We had an MD appt at 4pm for my 38 week check. My weight, blood pressure, and labs were good but baby was still measuring small. At my 36 week check, baby was measuring small at that time too but head position was already head down and low in the pelvis so he wasn't too concerned. But at 38 weeks, he thought an ultrasound to measure for growth would be the best. So...
Dec 6 (thurs)
I went to work early to get a head start for the day, as I had to leave at 8:30 for the ultrasound. The tech brought me back and started the ultrasound and it was awesome to see the baby. The tech said everything looked ok but yes baby was measuring small...at 34 weeks, 5 days(I was 38 weeks). So I had to meet with the MD to discuss. After waiting for about and hour, my MD arrived, reviewed the ultrasound and told me the following... Bed rest starting tomorrow(12/7), biophysical profile(checking growth/development of baby) on Monday(12/10) and induction scheduled for thurs night(12/13). It was a lot to process but I trusted my MD and knew that is what was best for the baby. So I went back to work around noon, told my boss and coworkers, finished seeing patients, and wrapped things up for my leave.
And came home to beautiful flowers and dinner made!
Dec 7 - (fri)
Bed rest for the day. Paul made sure before he left for work that I would be set for the day. He brought home a pizza for dinner and we watched some tv and went to bed.
