Jason's blood sugars were stabilizing and they were weaning the IV drip. I started to breastfeed Jason overnight and it was going well --still with Jason every 3hrs in the NICU.
My parents came for a brief morning visit before they went home.



I saw my MD around 10am and he said I was doing well and could discharge. I physically felt fine to discharge but was not going to leave the hospital without my son. Paul and I packed up our room, then he went home for a few hours and I went to be with Jason. We talked with the nurse and case manager and they told us we could stay in the room across the hall from the NICU, and "room in." The room would be available on a night by night basis. We were so happy that we could stay and be close to Jason! And so I could be here to feed him every 3 hrs.





Around 3 pm, Jason had stabilized his blood sugars and they stopped the IV drip! The central line came out around 6pm.


And he was able to wear clothes for the first time!
